The contents of your application will be assessed by Payl8r, our finance partner, and you will receive an instant approval or refusal of credit. In exceptional cases, your order will be held for manual assessment and you can expect to be notified by email of the credit decision within a few working hours.

All loans are subject to status and you must be at least 18 years old and a permanent resident in the UK. Customers from outside the UK cannot apply for finance through the Sportsman Gun Centre.

Please note that finance is available on selected items only and these will be clearly flagged as eligible on our website. Unfortunately we cannot split finance orders into multiple deliveries.

What is the best finance deal I can get on my product?

Please note that these options just give an indication of the finance deals available. You make your final decision on which finance package you would like at the checkout stage of our website.  The interest rate offered to you is subject to status and may differ to the one shown on the product page.

How do I checkout using Instant Finance?
It's simple! Just add the products you want to your Basket click ‘Proceed to Checkout’ and then on the Checkout page choose the finance plan that’s right for you. Please note that once you click place order you will be taken to the payl8r website, which is set within our site, you will need to follow the onscreen instructions to apply for finance. BE AWARE: You will be credit checked as part of the process of applying for finance.  For every finance application you will be charged a non-refundable £2 application fee at the point of application.

How do repayments work?
Monthly repayments will be taken by direct debit.  Your finance agreement starts 30 days from the point you sign the agreement.

Cooling off period?
You have 14 days from the receipt of your order to change your mind about the purchase. If you wish to keep the goods but cancel the finance, all you have to do is contact Payl8r and pay the full cost of the goods, alternatively you can contact the Sportsman Gun Centre and pay for the order via an alternative means (i.e. a credit card). Sportsman Gun Centre will then cancel your credit agreement. If you don't wish to keep the goods, then you must return your order to Sportsman Gun Centre in the same condition that you received it, at which point Sportsman Gun Centre will cancel the agreement.

Will the finance company perform a credit check?
Yes. A credit check forms part of the automated decision making process and is part of a responsible lending policy.

What is responsible lending?
Responsible lending is providing credit, based on background checks and professional judgement, to people who can accommodate regular repayments without getting into financial difficulty. Before the finance company will offer credit, they will assess whether they feel you will be able to repay it. Finance companies endeavour to make their decisions as transparent and as objective as possible. Credit scoring is one of the decision-making tools they use: a technique used to assess the probability that customers can and will meet their financial commitments. Credit scoring uses data received from credit reference agencies. These systems help finance companies make decisions about opening accounts and granting credit by using statistical techniques to measure the likelihood that a customer applying for credit will be an acceptable credit risk. It can also help to accelerate the decision making process. The Finance companies responsibility to lend responsibly should be seen as a complement to customers' own obligations to borrow responsibly.

What is responsible borrowing?
Borrowing from a finance company can be a very useful way to smooth out the gaps between your income and expenditure. Sensible borrowing has empowered generations of people to buy goods and services that would otherwise be well beyond their reach. Used sensibly, borrowing money can be a very good tool for managing your finances, such as spreading the cost of a purchase over a number of months. The key is to remain in control of your money and to make sure that you do not over-stretch yourself.

What if I have bad credit?
The finance company uses an automated credit check as part of their decision making process. If you have an adverse credit record it may affect their decision. To give yourself the best chance of acceptance, please ensure you complete the credit application form correctly. Please don't apply for credit unless you're sure you will be able to comfortably repay it.

What if I have a complaint about the finance company?
If you would like to make a complaint, in the first instance please contact Payl8r by email or telephone (see below). Their customer service team will try and resolve any problems. If you are dissatisfied with the result of that complaint, then please contact the "Chief Executive Officer" of your finance company in writing at the address listed below:
