Great Value Replica Makes a Fun Plinker
Surprisingly heavy and compact, this gun is finished in a satin black that does a very convincing job of looking like blued steel, especially if you wipe it all over with a tiny amount of light gun oil. The brown plastic grips are shinier than the original which had a sort of Bakelite feel and look, but they feel sturdy and slide back cleanly to allow the CO2 to be inserted. The tab on the bottom of the grip is my only issue since it protrudes around 8mm when the twisting tap is folded. It is a compromise I can live with at the price.
This is a non blowback model, but the slide functions to prime the action and cock the hammer for the first shot. The trigger has a long but crisp pull and is slightly better in double action.
Drop out mag is a metal stick type.
Not very accurate at more than 7m due to the short barrel I suppose but handles really well and is a pleasure to use. It looks quite close to the original and offers great value.
Collected from the friendly guys in the Newport store and delivery fee refunded on request.
Super Little Pistol
A very well made pistol for a very reasonable price. Finish is black painted but honestly it is very well done... not quite up to blueing standard but far more realistic than the “parkerised” finish on my broom handle Mauser.
It can be field stripped but check out YouTube because the method is not covered by the manual.
This is a non blow back model and is more accurate for it. Handling is good due to the compact size and the trigger is pleasant with a light to medium weight pull in both single and double action. The drop out stick magazine is all metal and very robust as is the pistol generally being all metal other than the plastic one piece sliding grip.
Collected from the very friendly guys at the Newport store.

Useful and decorative plinker
This little Umarex is something of a rarity; it's both cheap and cheerful. Or rather, it has the weight and finish to appear more expensive than it is, and it's also a lot of fun to use. The moveable slide doesn't have as much travel as it should, but it's good that it moves at all. The magazine is also reassuringly solid metal, and quite hefty, especially compared to things like the fragile plastic stick magazines Umarex uses for their PPK. The spring follower in the mag can be latched down to make loading easier, and once you realise that the BBs should be fed in from the rear of the mag, it gets a much easier! Similarly, it's not immediately obvious that when the release catch is used, the magazine drops out simply due to gravity; it's not actually ejected by a mechanism.
Shooting over a 12ft range, the stubby little smoothbore barrel will notch up 2" group with practice, which looks impressive with 18 holes through the paper. Basically, it's a plinker, but it's also attractive and pleasing as a replica/
